Ministério da Integração Nacional autoriza que Ferreira Guedes assuma conclusão do Eixo Norte.
O Ceará deve receber água da transposição do Rio São Francisco em agosto, de acordo com o Ministério da Integração Nacional. A pasta informou nesta terça-feira (8) que o consórcio Ferreira Guedes assuma conclusão do Eixo Norte. As informações foram dadas pelo ministro da Integração Nacional, Pádua Andrade, em reunião com representantes do Ministério Público do estado da Paraíba.
A ordem de serviço assinada nesta terça autoriza o início do trabalho na obra desde junho de 2016. A previsão inicial é de que o empreendimento fosse concluído em 2012.
Segundo o Ministério, mais de 1.200 profissionais estarão em campo nas próximas semanas para garantir que as águas cheguem ao Ceará até o mês de agosto. Para acelerar o cronograma, várias frentes de serviço vão atuar simultaneamente, em períodos 24 horas.
“Hoje, já temos cerca de 250 trabalhadores mobilizados no local. A construtora começará pelos pontos de obras mais complexos do trecho: a terceira estação de bombeamento (EBI-3) e o túnel Milagres. A EBI-3 é a maior estação elevatória de toda a Integração do São Francisco. São 90 metros de altura. É o equivalente a elevar o volume de água de uma piscina olímpica – a cada segundo – à altura de um prédio de 30 andares. Nossa expectativa é de acionar essa estrutura até o mês de junho”, afirmou o ministro Pádua Andrade.

Ainda conforme o Ministério da Integração, a substituição do Consórcio Emsa-Siton, que era responsável pela execução das obras na Meta 1N, foi uma medida para garantir o cumprimento dos prazos de entrega do Eixo Norte, já que a empresa não vinha apresentando ritmo de trabalho adequado ao cronograma.
No início de fevereiro, o Governo Federal acionou a segunda estação de bombeamento (EBI-2) do eixo, em Cabrobó (PE). O funcionamento permitiu que as águas do ‘Velho Chico’ continuassem avançando pelos canais.
Inicialmente, será garantido um reforço no abastecimento para 9,2 mil pessoas no município de Terra Nova (PE) – 4,2 mil na área rural e 5 mil na urbana. Em novembro do ano passado, as águas do Eixo Norte já começaram a atender cerca de 3,2 mil moradores e produtores da região de Cabrobó, em 17 comunidades rurais.
A Meta 1N do Eixo Norte tem 140 quilômetros de extensão e passa pelos municípios pernambucanos de Cabrobó, Salgueiro, Terra Nova e Verdejante, até a cidade de Penaforte, no Ceará. As demais etapas (2N e 3N) estão em fase final de conclusão.
