Em julgamento na tarde de hoje, o STJ (Superior Tribunal de Justiça) reduziu a pena de prisão aplicada ao ex-presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) no processo do tríplex de Guarujá (SP). A redução da pena do ex-presidente para 8 anos, 10 meses e 20 dias de prisão pode permitir que o petista vá para o regime semiaberto ainda neste ano.
Advogados ouvidos pelo UOL apontam que, com a nova pena fixada hoje pelo STJ, Lula poderá pedir uma progressão para o regime semiaberto a partir de setembro. Neste tipo de regime, o condenado pode sair durante o dia, mas deve retornar à prisão à noite. Lula cumpre pena na Superintendência da PF (Polícia Federal), em Curitiba.
