O governador Camilo Santana e o presidente global da Votorantim Cimentos, Marcelo Castelli, anunciaram nesta segunda-feira, em São Paulo, acordo para investimento de R$ 200 milhões na ampliação da fábrica do Pecém, que irá aumentar em 800 mil toneladas/ano a capacidade de moagem de cimento da unidade, atualmente de 200 mil toneladas/ano.
Após a conclusão, a fábrica da Votorantim Cimentos no Pecém vai ter a capacidade de produção total de 1 milhão de toneladas/ano de cimento. As obras estão previstas para começar no primeiro semestre deste ano.
O anúncio oficial foi feito na sede da empresa, durante reunião entre o governador, o presidente da Votorantim Cimentos e a diretoria executiva da companhia.
Para o governador Camilo Santana, o anúncio do investimento representa desenvolvimento e oportunidade de geração de emprego e oportunidades para o povo cearense.
