O projeto para construção de um campus da Universidade Regional do Cariri (URCA) em Campos Sales dá os seus primeiros passos para acontecer numa área de 20 mil metros quadrados.
O Reitor da URCA, Professor Francisco do Ó Lima Júnior, acompanhado do Vice-Reitor, Carlos Kleber de Oliveira, da direção da Unidade Descentralizada, Pró-Reitores, além de um corpo técnico que realizou o levantamento topográfico do terreno, esteve no local, na última terça-feira(03) de dezembro de 2019.
Na ocasião, a equipe administrativa da Universidade e integrantes da Comissão de Integração das Unidades Descentralizadas estiveram com os alunos e professores da Unidade, no ‘Reitoria no seu Campus’, para tratar de questões relacionadas ao funcionamento da UD e das necessidades internas. São cerca de 800 alunos que compõem a Unidade Descentralizada, com os cursos de Letras, Matemática e Ciências Biológicas.
Segundo o Reitor, esse foi um momento importante para dar esse grande passo inicial na elaboração do projeto, no qual a URCA, através da administração superior, já vem trabalhando em busca dos recursos para a construção.
Os estudos topográficos foram realizados desde a parte da manhã da terça-feira, pelo Professor Jefferson Marinho, Pró-Reitor de Administração da URCA, a Professora Janeide Ferreira, Pró-reitora Adjunta de Administração, e técnicos da Proad.
Segundo o Reitor, é importante que esse trabalho seja realizado nesse momento, já que são exigências que virão mais tarde em relação ao levantamento topográfico, e posterior elaboração do projeto. “O terreno é muito bom em termos de topografia, porque não precisa fazer terraplanagem”, explica. A área foi doada à URCA por morador da cidade, num terreno considerado eixo de expansão da cidade.
Destacou que mesmo havendo uma melhoria na infraestrutura das escolas onde funcionam os cursos, há uma necessidade maior para laboratórios além da biblioteca. E para isso, foi locada uma nova casa bem mais ampla, que poderá comportar melhor a estrutura da UD. No local, tem uma área que poderá funcionar nos finais de semana como sala de aula das especializações, além outros setores, como administrativo e biblioteca.
Conforme o Reitor, é de grande importância possibilitar maior integração com as UDs e estar presente com a administração, para dialogar, ouvir de perto às demandas, além de possibilitar essa proximidade maior com os alunos e professores de Campos Sales.
