O Governo do Ceará inaugurou na segunda-feira (16), no Aterro Sanitário Municipal Oeste de Caucaia (Asmoc), o Gasoduto, a Estação de Transferência e a Planta de Produção de Gás Natural Renovável, empreendimentos realizados por meio da parceria entre a Companhia de Gás do Ceará (Cegás), Prefeitura de Fortaleza e a Gás Natural Renovável Fortaleza. A rede construída no Estado é a primeira a distribuir GNR para uso final, e a segunda maior do País em estrutura, com capacidade inicial de 100.000 m³ de biometano, combustível renovável usado para abastecer veículos, indústrias, comércio e residências.
A solenidade de entrega do equipamento contou com a presença do governador Camilo Santana, acompanhado do prefeito de Fortaleza, Roberto Cláudio, do presidente da Cegás, Hugo Figueiredo, do presidente financeiro do Grupo Marquise, José Carlos Pontes, do empresário da Ecometano, Carlos Laranjeira, dentre outros representantes da iniciativa privada, secretariado, lideranças políticas estaduais e municipais.
O chefe do Executivo foi responsável pelo acionamento das máquinas na unidade. Durante a cerimônia, Camilo destacou o sucesso da parceria entre poder público e iniciativa privada para tornar o Ceará referência e pioneiro na distribuição de combustível natural renovável no Brasil.
