“Há relatos também de pessoas que ouviram um grande barulho seguido desse meteoro. Esses grandes meteoros geralmente acontecem na madrugada, quando a maioria das pessoas estão dormindo, então passam despercebidos. Mas esse aconteceu relativamente cedo, às 23h, por isso mais pessoas repararam”, explica.
Trajetória
O corpo celestre foi captado por quatro câmeras de observadores amadores. Duas delas estavam posicionadas no Ceará, em Maranguape e Iguatu; outras duas estavam na Paraíba, nas cidades de João Pessoa e Campina Grande. Com a ajuda dos equipamentos foi possível calcular a trajetória e outros detalhes do objeto.
“Ele percorreu a atmosfera da terra com uma velocidade de 12km/segundo [43 km/h] e atravessou 117 quilômetros, até cair na altura de Icó. De posse da trajetória, estamos tentando determinar a região onde possa existir os meteoritos”, afirma o observador.
“Ainda é necessário fazer diversos cálculos e uma análise mais aprofundada, mas estamos estimando que possa ter sobrado alguns quilos de meteorito”, supõe Lauriston Andrade, referindo-se aos fragmentos que podem ter sobrado do bólibo.
A maioria meteoros que chega à atmosfera terrestre desintegra-se antes de atingir o solo.
Apesar de ter atraído os olhares da população das cidades por onde sobrevoou, o meteoro não causaria grande perigo com a queda. “Esse tipo não tem riscos para as pessoas, principalmente porque caiu na zona rural, numa região pouco povoada”, comenta o membro da Bramon.
