O Pleno do Tribunal Regional Eleitoral do Ceará (TRE-CE) decidiu na quarta-feira (22), por unanimidade, solicitar a presença da Força Federal no Estado para reforçar a segurança das eleições deste ano. Caso a solicitação seja atendida, devem receber tropas do Exército zonas eleitorais de Fortaleza, Caucaia, Maracanaú, Sobral e Juazeiro do Norte.
Um dos critérios para a escolha dos municípios foi o mínimo de 100 mil eleitores. A decisão do TRE será comunicada ao governador Camilo Santana (PT), com o cumprimento do trâmite legal. O juiz Eduardo Scorsafava, presidente da Comissão de Segurança do TRE-CE, reforçou o entendimento do órgão.
A decisão da Corte Eleitoral se concretiza dois dias após o recebimento, pelo Tribunal, de um ofício do procurador regional eleitoral, Anastácio Tahim, defendendo o concurso de forças federais para garantir a eleição, conforme noticiado na edição desta quarta-feira do Diário do Nordeste. A presidente do TRE-CE, desembargadora Nailde Pinheiro, também já havia se posicionado favoravelmente à presença de tropas federais no Estado durante a eleição, conforme destacado pelo Diário do Nordeste, na edição da última terça-feira.
