Camilo Santana, do PT, foi reeleito neste domingo (7) governador do Ceará para os próximos quatro anos.
Com 100% das urnas apuradas, Camilo teve 3.457.556 votos. O segundo colocado, General Theophilo (PSDB), teve 488.438 votos.
Em entrevista no comitê após o resultado das eleições, o governador reeleito com 79,94% dos votos, Camilo Santana disse receber o resultado com “gratidão ao povo cearense”.
“Isso aumenta mais minha responsabilidade, eu dediquei muito desse primeiro mandato a trabalhar muito pelo Ceará, pelo cearense. Momento difícil, crise econômica, crise política, seca no Ceará, mas nós trabalhamos muito. Muito diálogo, muita parceria, respeitando as pessoas e, pra mim, essa votação é um reconhecimento desse trabalho. Repito: serei eternamente grato ao povo cearense. A única forma que tenho de retribuir essa votação é trabalhando muito”, reforçou.
A reeleição leva o petista ao segundo mandato como governador do estado. Camilo Sobreira de Santana é natural do Crato, uma das três principais cidades do Sul do Ceará. Ele nasceu em 3 de junho de 1968, filho de Eudoro e Ermengarda Santana. É casado com Onélia Leite e tem dois filhos, Pedro e Luiza. Ele tem como vice a professora Izolda Cela (PDT).
Camilo é engenheiro agrônomo e mestre em Desenvolvimento e Meio Ambiente pela Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC). Iniciou a vida pública como servidor público federal do Ibama e foi superintendente adjunto do órgão no Ceará em 2003 e 2004.
Ele disputou um cargo político pela primeira vez em 2000, quando se candidatou à Prefeitura de Barbalha, mas não foi eleito. Na segunda, em 2004 recebeu 9.925 votos, mas ficou em segundo lugar.
Em 2006, Camilo participou da campanha que ajudou Cid Gomes a chegar ao Governo do Ceará. Já no ano seguinte, no início da nova gestão, em 2007, assumiu a Secretaria de Desenvolvimento Agrário, permanecendo como titular por três anos.
O petista decidiu tentar uma vaga no Legislativo Estadual em 2010 e obteve sucesso pela primeira vez em uma corrida eleitoral. Foi o deputado estadual mais votado do Ceará, recebendo 131.171 votos no Estado. Já no segundo mandado de Cid Gomes como governador, em 2011, Santana assumiu a secretaria estadual das Cidades.
