A distância entre o Ceará e o Rio de Janeiro nunca foi tão curta: na madrugada de 5 de março, União da Ilha, Paraíso do Tuiuti e a Mangueira desfilaram no sambódromo com temáticas cearenses
Sentado num carro alegórico de nome “Fios da vida tecendo o mundo”, o mestre da cultura Espedito Seleiro sustentava o olhar por toda a concentração da Escola de Samba União da Ilha do Governador, durante uma madrugada especial para o Ceará no Rio de Janeiro. Ali, ainda distante dos holofotes da Marquês de Sapucaí, ele descansava o corpo para aguentar firme e de pé por pouco mais de uma hora de desfile. A voz baixa quase que sussurrava a ansiedade pela estreia na passarela do samba.
O trabalho com o couro que realiza na cidade de Nova Olinda, no Cariri, estava referenciado na própria fantasia e também na de alguns brincantes que desfilariam na ala em sua homenagem. Nesta, aliás, cearense era o que não faltava, provando que nem só de carioca se enche um sambódromo. A uma simples pergunta, um grupo numeroso de conterrâneos se reunia, já se preparando para um registro fotográfico. “Vixe, Maria!”, diziam em coro, reproduzindo trecho do refrão do samba-enredo da agremiação.
Mesmo aqueles que não estavam presentes fisicamente, materializavam-se por meios das 15 mil peças artesanais enviadas do Estado para compor a identidade do desfile. Era olhar para uma rede num carro e automaticamente viajar para Jaguaruana; apreciar uma sequência de fantasias e lembrar dos bordados de filé de Jaguaribe ou das rendas de bilro do litoral; sem falar nas palhas e cerâmicas que somavam identidade às alegorias.
O encanto do Ceará na avenida ia muito além do “Padim Ciço” voando, na figura do engenheiro romeno Alexandru Duru, que ficou a cerca de 12 metros de altura, segurando em uma haste fixada num platô com várias pequenas hélices.
Maior que esse “milagre” era ver tanta gente da gente representada num dos maiores espetáculos visuais do mundo. E por que não dizer sonoro também? A união de samba, baião e xaxado na bateria do “Padim” foi uma escolha mais do que acertada para levantar o público das arquibancadas.
Vou bodejar
“Isso aqui io iô é um pouquinho de Brasil”, cantaria a Paraíso do Tuiuti na sequência. Segunda escola a eleger o Ceará como protagonista, a vice-campeã de 2018 reforçou a aposta num desfile crítico e levou centenas de “bodes políticos” para a avenida. O mascote cearense Bodinho não ficou de fora dessa. Mesmo com “as patinhas tremendo”, pelo medo de altura, desfilou em destaque num carro alegórico com cerca de 10 metros.
No chão, exaltações ao “salvador da pátria” e retratos da seca sertaneja a Fortaleza “muderna”, por onde vagou o caprino intelectual, boêmio, noturno e folião. Mas o desfile não era só sobre um bode. Era também sobre gente. Gente insatisfeita com a situação política do País. Gente com sede de respeito e dignidade. Gente que resiste por meio de lemas como o “ninguém solta a mão de ninguém”, que encerrou o desfile em letras garrafais, nas costas do carro alegórico.
O “bodejo” de Ioiô ecoou alto na voz dos brasileiros que desfilavam ou trabalhavam nos bastidores do evento, mas também nos ouvidos daqueles que haviam desembolsado fortunas para assistir em alegorias o que está escancarado para a sociedade e muitos preferem pagar para ver.
Chegou a vez
Depois da Tuiuti, a Mangueira contou a “história que a história não conta”. E o sangue retinto de negros e indígenas cearenses por trás dos heróis emoldurados “pingou” na Sapucaí. Crateús, Cariús, Cariris e Inhamuns foram lembrados pela resistência à dominação portuguesa. Chico da Matilde ganhou um carro alegórico que remetia a seu combate ao tráfico negreiro, muito antes da “Lei Áurea” assinada pela Princesa Isabel.
Na plateia, o engajamento do público era notório. As placas em homenagem à vereadora Marielle Franco subiam a cada vez que o nome dela era chamado no samba. A presença da viúva, Mônica Benício, e do amigo, Marcelo Freixo, transformaram o desfile num ato político com direito a bandeirolas com a face de Marielle.
Há quase um ano não se sabe quem mandou matar a ativista dos direitos humanos naquele dia 14 de março.
Como cearense, não faltaram motivos para se orgulhar das homenagens feitas na Sapucaí na madrugada de 5 de março. Mas a conversa com o Carnaval tem de ir muito além do orgulho. É preciso ouvir da literatura de Rachel e Alencar, aos bodejos do bode e gritos das Marias, Mahins, Marielles, Malês.
