O senador Cid Gomes (PDT) está se licenciando do cargo de senador por 120 dias. O afastamento protocolado, na manhã desta quarta-feira (4), começa no dia 11 de dezembro e é para tratar de interesses particulares, ou seja, ocorre sem remuneração. O suplente, Prisco Bezerra, que é irmão do prefeito de Fortaleza Roberto Cláudio (PDT), assume o cargo e será o novo representante do Ceará na Casa.
A decisão do parlamentar tem duas justificativas oficiais e gera grande repercussão na política cearense, pois ocorre no fim do ano pré-eleitoral, em que há muitas especulações a respeito das candidaturas do grupo político comandado por ele e pelo irmão Ciro Gomes, que já está de olho no pleito de 2022 para a Presidência da República.
A primeira justificativa é de que precisa tratar, de fato, de interesses particulares relacionados aos negócios. O segundo, e mais significativo do ponto de vista público, é reestruturar o partido na preparação para o pleito de 2020, que é estratégico para o grupo. Cid vai assumir a presidência estadual do PDT, em substituição ao deputado federal André Figueiredo, que ocupa o cargo há um bom tempo.
Com um mapa político debaixo do braço, Cid vai dar o start na estratégia do partido na Capital e no Interior, fazendo articulações e, inclusive, eventuais mudanças em diretórios municipais da legenda.
