As chuvas chegaram ao Ceará e com elas, a necessidade de manter-se atento para evitar a proliferação do Aedes aegypti. O mosquito que transmite dengue, zika e chikungunya pode ser um grande vilão se atitudes simples não forem tomadas, especialmente nesse período. Por isso, a Secretaria da Saúde do Estado relembra os principais cuidados para a população garantir a saúde e poder desfrutar do clima chuvoso sem se preocupar.
A orientação é manter os quintais sempre limpos, recolher, eliminar ou guardar longe da chuva todo objeto que possa acumular água, como pneus velhos, latas, recipientes plásticos, tampas de garrafas, copos descartáveis e até cascas de ovos. O lixo doméstico deve ser acondicionado em sacos plásticos e descartado adequadamente, em depósitos fechados, e colocados na rua somente no horário de coleta.
Depois da chuva, é recomendado fazer a vistoria no quintal e na casa para eliminar a água acumulada sobre lajes, calhas, tanques, pratinhos de vasos de planta. Com as chuvas, aumenta a formação de criadouros do Aedes aegypti fora de casa, mas deve-se manter o cuidado também dentro de casa. Baldes, potes, quartinhas, bacias, camburões e outros recipientes que guardam a água de beber e para outros usos domésticos, assim como a caixa d’água, devem ser mantidos limpos e fechados para evitar o risco de proliferação do mosquito.
Em condições ambientais favoráveis, após a eclosão do ovo em água limpa, o desenvolvimento do mosquito Aedes aegypti até a forma adulta pode levar um período de até oito dias. A fêmea põe os ovos e no primeiro contato com gotinhas de água eclodem, viram larvas, pupas e depois o mosquito adulto. Tudo isso muito rápido.
Para impedir a desova, é fundamental eliminar todos os potenciais focos. Os ovos são depositados nas paredes do criadouro, bem próximo à superfície da água, porém não diretamente sobre o líquido, onde o ovo pode permanecer grudado.
A fêmea do mosquito transmissor deposita os ovos em criadouros com água limpa e parada. Por isso, a eliminação de criadouros deve ser realizada pelo menos uma vez por semana. Assim, o ciclo de vida do mosquito será interrompido. Com essas ações o mosquito não encontrará água para se reproduzir e continuar transmitindo dengue, zika e chikungunya.
Em 2018, o Ceará registrou 3.679 casos de dengue. Destes, 25 graves e 11 óbitos. Houve 33 confirmados de zika, sendo quatro em gestantes. Em relação aos casos de chikungunya, o estado registrou 1.384, com um óbito.
