O discurso emocionado foi feito pelo governador Camilo Santana (PT), nessa noite de segunda-feira (18), ao ser homenageado, na Câmara Municipal, com o título de Cidadão de Fortaleza e também com a Medalha Boticário Ferreira. O plenário ficou pequeno para os convidados, que ainda lotaram o auditório e a área externa da Casa, onde um telão transmitia o ato.
Camilo, em sua fala, destacou conquistas de seu governo nas áreas da educação e economia. “Em três anos e meio, tenho tido várias emoções, por conquistas como na Educação Pública, que tem obtido os melhores resultados do Pais. Alcançamos índices históricos e hoje nossa Educação é modelo para vários estados do Pais. (…) Em 2017, o Ceará alcançou a meta prevista para 2024. (…) Na Economia, o Ceará tem sido exemplo de solidez fiscal e por isso o Ceará teve o maior investimento do país, o que tem proporcionado mais emprego e melhoria de vida a população”.
A sessão, presidida pelo presidente do Legislativo de Fortaleza, Salmito Filho, contou com as presenças, na mesa, de Isolda Cela, vice-governadora do Ceará; deputado Zezinho Albuquerque, presidente da Assembleia Legislativa; deputado federal Leônidas Cristino; prefeito Roberto Cláudio; desembargador Durval Aires Filho, representando o presidente do Tribunal de Justiça, Francisco Gladyson Pontes; desembargadora Nailde Pinheiro, presidente do TRE-CE; vereador Adail Junior, primeiro vice-presidente da Câmara; e vereadora Cláudia Gomes, terceira secretária da Câmara.
Camilo, momentos antes do ato, foi indagado se aquele ato já se constituía como uma pré-campanha Disse que sua preocupação era com a gestão, tocar e entregar obras e que não estava pensando em eleições. “Isso a gente só vai pensar depois da convenção”, afirmou. No ato, a maioria dos aliados. Faltaram, no entanto, o presidente do Congresso, senador Eunício Oliveira, que se ausentou do País coma viagem de Temer, pois disputará reeleição; Ciro Gomes e Cid Gomes, que estavam com agenda em São Paulo, e os novos aliados governistas, o deputado federal Genecias Noronha, presidente do Solidariedade, e Domingos Filho, conselheiro à disposição, que tem o filho, deputado federal Domingos Neto, presidindo o PSD no Estado.
